Back off the bus again!

To another monument for the alphabet!
As I remeber these statues were created for the 1700 anniversary of the Armenian alphabet, in 2001. An interesting thing about Armenian statues is that they are really meant to last. There are stone churches here that have been standing for over fifteen hundred years, and Armenians have been living on this land for several times longer than that. So there is the precident that if you built a monument, you build it to last, because it could very well be here in a thousand years and be visited by your descendants. There is the perspective of time, that if you spend time and do something right it can last and be important for a long time, that newer contries and cultures don't have.

Again, everyone possed by the letter that starts their first name. On the left is Mary on top of the M. (Which is like a U with a tail on the top right of the letter.)

That's me at the J! I was the only one whose name starts with a J, not a lot of Justins, Jessicas and Johns in Armenai.

Then back on the bus!
