if you consider...
an ambient audio adventure
through Golden Gate Park

Directions to the location of the hidden box containing the audio tour:

Firstly go to the intersection of Fulton and Stanyan, at the most Northeastern tip of Golden Gate Park.

Enter the park and take the paved path to the right.

Just up the road right before the bushes start, you will see a set of pipes contained within a metal cage.

As you approach, you will see that behind the caged pipe is a low tree.

Beaneath the base of the tree, burried under the dirt and sand there will be a plastic box with three sets of walkmen and headphones with tapes and batteries. There should be backup batteries, but you might want to bring your own just in case.

The box should be burried right here at the base of the tree in that patch of dirt. There a several pieces of slate over the top to keep it protected and hidden. With any luck everything will have survived storms, worms and park rangers. Dig up the goodies, go on the tour, then return them to their home. Rewinding the tapes, adding to the log book, making sure there are working batteries, and generally making sure the experience will be good for the next tour-taker is of course highly encouraged. It is a bit of a tight fit to get everything in the waterproof box and to snap the lid, but I ensure you that it is entirely possible! And of course, please mail me if you have any questions or concerns!
