by Attendees of The Absurdists
Release Party (March 3rd, 2007)
posted 3/5/07
Using several thousand strategically placed sound capturing devices, along with our giant network server facility filled with carbon-based supercomputers, our top-tier technicians were able to record audio from our website release party and condense it down into a four minute opus to general revelry. If you were unable to attend, you can place yourselves at the event in a way that mere video or pictures could never hope to achieve. And if you were there, you can relive the experience over and over again hoping that this reproduction can somehow, in some insignificant way, transport you back in time to those precious moments this past Saturday evening.
Also, to the left is a mural (or a picture of a mural) created during the chaos. In the most creatively inclined room in the house, colors and pigments were spontaneously added to the wall as partygoers took turns adding their own vision to the collective masterpiece. Though hidden like a snail, its meaning will someday slither its tentacles towards the core of your being. Enjoy!
Click here for a list of all the sound journal posts!
The song journal is intended to be a showcase of songs and sounds from the community with new sounds posted at least weekly. If you have a piece of music you have recorded, a radio show that you've done, a weird sound that your cat makes, a story you want to read, or any tidbit of sound that you have found particularly of note, mail us! And with the beauty of the internet, you don't have to be located in the our home base of San Francisco. So even if you are far away, or have not spoken to us in a while, or do not even know who we are, you can still be part of the community. Also, if you have an idea of something you wish to record, but not the means of doing the recording, we have our own recording studio which you can use at your leisure! Mail Jeremy to set something up.
