the airship

The Airship
by Jeremy Dalmas, 2003

sweet
whose women flew,
think,
and searched.
Our usefulness leaned purely towards the brush
and was a prize that people
- for good -
built in nature.
upon the right was the crimson grade
sad to attain its duty
men visited the veranda
looked, straddled,
And saw:

those bravely above the hills with knees down
lumbering tents worked and spread their pinions
pulled towards Spain
remaining always the size of the brush.
That span,
once shifted upon and hunted,
went ker-plunk to their forest feet
And those sailing noble o'er that
went wild.

because of "it"
this we saw at last in the 'round:
Two wagon-boxes,
a leafless raven
and lumber, left-wing men throbbing
with women-kind engines working those seats
the pinions, They'd wind
And berries
went away from Michigan

Now keel!
and when sows flee
To the last bit wash this hint,
'twas this we mean:
those men's jacket wood was airship attire

The sound journal is intended to be a showcase of sounds and songs, (usually) posted early every Tuesday morning. If you have a piece of music you have recorded, a radio show that you've done, a weird song that your cat sings, a story you want to read, or any tidbit of sound that you have found particularly of note, drop us a line. We would love to share it.
